Unfortunately this week brought the announcement that Wood-Mode, the custom wood cabinet manufacturing business, has shut its doors permanently.
Wood-Mode, one of the leaders in the cabinetry industry, announced on May 13, 2019 that it is closing its plant effective immediately and letting its 900+ employees go. Hundreds of Wood-Mode employees have returned to the Wood-Mode plant for the last time to pick up their final pay checks.
While our hearts go out to the employees impacted at the Wood-Mode facility, the chain reaction of the Wood-Mode closing will also reverberate throughout the custom cabinetry industry with many dealers and retailers feeling the effects of suddenly not being able to fulfill orders.
